Some people spend years searching for a career that feels like it was made for them. Una Urošev found hers and it sits exactly at the intersection of data, fashion and a relentless curiosity for how things work.

Disassembling and assembling

Growing up, Una was always drawn to understanding what lies beneath the surface. Numbers, patterns, the logic behind everything. They were never just abstract concepts to her, they were puzzles worth solving. As a kid, she kept on disassembling small appliences to figure out the mechanics. She had many dream jobs, Doctor, Vetenarian but what stands out most: Architect. A more unusual choice for an eight year old. In hindsight, it is another piece of the puzzle, fitting perfectly into Una’s later career choice. As someone with high logical thinking skills, she also leans heavily towards creativity. Something you need, if you want to build things, no matter if you want to be and archictect or maybe building data structures.

Her instincts and interest made her study Management and Computer Science, with data science as a natural middle ground. But without a clear direction at first, she kept exploring.

After two years, she made a pivotal decision: she switched into Fashion & Design Management. Not because she was leaving data behind, but because she wanted to combine it with something she genuinely loved. Fashion gave her a new lens. Data gave her the tools. And suddenly, everything clicked.

It was during her thesis, a project combining the best of both worlds, that she crossed paths with Mauricio, Chainbalance’s Chief Commercial Officer.

The missing piece

When Una started her fashion studies, she quickly noticed something: the data side of the industry was underexplored. Everyone talked about trends, aesthetics and the outcome, but very few were asking how to decode those trends into usable, actionable information.

That gap became her focus."I don't want to work at the forefront of fashion," she explains. "I'd rather work in the background and support the processes with data, making decisions that help fashion companies actually perform."

It's a perspective that makes her perfectly suited for her role as AI Data Analyst at Chainbalance. Here, fashion and data don't just coexist, they depend on each other. And for Una, that's exactly the point.

What she loves most about her work

Ask Una what excites her about being a Data Analyst in fashion and her answer is immediate:

"It's the perfect position. I genuinely get excited when I find something new in the data and can actually use it."

She describes herself as a practical person, someone who wants to create things that are tangible and useful, not just theoretical. Fashion, she notes, can be abstract and open to interpretation. Data cuts through that. It reveals what's really happening and it gives teams the clarity to act.

That combination, creative industry, analytical backbone, is what makes her work feel meaningful every single day.

A team that trusts her

When Una talks about working at Chainbalance, one word keeps coming up: trust.

"It's the best team and environment I've ever worked in. I feel valued. I can bring in my own ideas. I manage my own time and work the way that suits me best."

Even though much of her work is independent, she never feels alone. There's a team to lean on, a shared passion for what they're building and a culture where meaningful contributions are recognised. For Una, that combination is rare and she doesn't take it for granted.

Beyond the data: a life full of phases

Outside of work, Una's hobbies tend to come in waves. She spent ten years studying piano and music theory, used to dance and still enjoys music recreationally. She's a self-described introvert who recharges during the week and saves her social energy for weekends with friends.

She's also a dedicated foodie, with Korean and East Asian cuisine as firm favourites, and loves discovering new restaurants and cafés. When she's not eating her way through a city, you might find her at a concert (90s rock and pop music are her go-to genres), binge-watching a TV series, or watching tennis and motorsports, sports she grew up enjoying with her family.
