Puzzles, Fashion and SaaS - today it's all about Janina, our Business Development Manager. She brings many years of experience in the fashion industry and a passion for customer service and digital solutions. Let’s dive in!
The path into the fashion world
Janina's career path began earlier than you might think: at 16, she gained her first experience as a sales assistant in a fashion boutique. This enthusiasm later led her to part-time jobs at Levi's and Promode. In Fashion, she always felt at home. Studying ‘International Textile and Clothing Management’ was not her plan, but when she stumbled across the course, it became clear that the fashion world would remain her home.
During her studies in Mönchengladbach, she gained a comprehensive insight into the entire industry—from yarn production and manufacturing to design and business. She loved how broad the insights into the industry were during her studies and felt well-prepared to enter the work world.
The path to Chainbalance
After graduating, Janina started as an Area Sales Manager at Tally Weijl, followed by an Area Sales Manager at ESPRIT, where she worked for six years, and vente-privee, where she was responsible for bags, luggage, and finally women's fashion.
The COVID-19 pandemic brought a significant change, but her interest in digitalisation led her to discover the SaaS industry. This new world inspired her with its dynamic changes and focus on digital solutions. After gaining further experience as a Customer Success Manager and Project Manager, she combined her two core competencies, Fashion and SaaS, at Chainbalance.
What makes being a Business Development Manager special?
Janina loves helping customers to be successful. Her strength is creating a win-win situation for both sides. She sees herself as a ‘care taker’ for customers: No matter their issue, she does everything possible to find a solution. Even though she describes herself as rather introverted, she enjoys the challenge of being in daily contact with customers.
Why Chainbalance?
What she particularly appreciates about Chainbalance is the open culture. Here, she can contribute ideas, try out new things, and constantly develop herself further. There are no noticeable hierarchies; everyone works together towards the same goal - and that's what makes working together so special.
Puzzling, podcast walks and DIY projects
Janina is creative and active in her free time. She enjoys puzzling, loves long walks with a podcast (e.g., ‘Weird Crimes’ or ‘The Super Life’), is interested in gardening, and would like to do more pottery or DIY projects again if time permits.
